I believe that the last scene of ‘The Devils Rejects’ is the most exiting and cleaver one. It uses techniques to make the audience root for the bad guys. The song ‘free bird’ by Lynyrd Skynyrd starts as there are various master shots and birds eye views of the vehicle the characters are travelling in and its surroundings.

The camera zooms in on the weary and distraught faces of the characters as well as cutting between the present and the memories of happier times. The memories contrast between they are feeling now and how they felt in the past. The police barricade is spotted as the music speeds up. The slow motion camera as the guns are passed around in the car shows the characters are weary.

Although the police heavily outnumber the main characters they drive aggressively at the blockade. This dramatic clip is shown by fast cuts and blurry movement, this contrasts with the slow motion before the gun fight. The music dies down as gun shots are heard, as the song quietens they die, it shows their lives and freedom dying away.
